About Me
I first came across the idea of software development as a potential career
path after stumbling upon a coding taster session with nology. Having always considered a career in
tech being unreachable without degree level qualifications, I went along with little idea of what to
expect. I emerged 2 hours later with a basic whack-a-mole game and a drive to learn something new.
Having thoroughly enjoyed life in the live music industry for 5 years previously, much of my
experience gained was through various roles covering a number of areas - from tour advancing &
logistics, to event planning & management and contracting & invoicing. The skills I acquired to be
successful in these positions included problem solving, attention to detail, organisation and a hell
of a lot of accountability, all within high pressure and time sensitive situations. I felt I had got
everything I could from it, and with a career in tech I could apply all of these skills in a
different environment, where the opportunities for learning and development are seemingly endless.
Away from my desk I enjoy ultra distance trail running, rock climbing and travelling. I
began teaching myself guitar during the pandemic, and I love going to see live music when I can.
